About Me

Karla Burgos (b. 2000, Yucatan, MX; lives and works in Houston, TX) is a Mexican-American artist best known for her realistic drawings of Mexican culture. She blends tradition, portraiture, and material experimentation within her pieces. Her work celebrates her heritage and honors the everyday things from where she comes from, while integrating techniques and influences she has learned in her new home, Houston. Working in the mediums of drawing, painting, and digital media, Karla fosters connection and contemplation, inviting audiences to explore identity through quiet focused encounters.
